A small bit of our "up north" trip

Randy and the boys inside at Gooseberry Falls. (we were about to feed them and then head out. The really good trip pictures were captured on Randy's fancy camera. Most of what I have used on the blog thus far has been from my iPhone. Not the best quality but great for a quick point and shoot. Look for more GREAT photo's from our trip soon. I don't get cell service up at the cabin so my phone was put away for most of the trip.)
Gavin playing dress up with Daddy's hat. (in our cabin)

Griffin started sharing his smiles with us just before this trip. he had them for awhile, he just kept them for special occasions. :)

Daddy and boys behind the main lodge with Hungry Jack Lake in the background.

Getting ready for our annual "up north" trip

Both babies wanted to drive after we pulled over for a bottle/diaper change on our way. Griffin was being a show-off with the "look ma! no hands!!" bit.
Gavin took it much more serious. And then fell fast asleep. We'll wait a few more years before we try it again.

This is just a small portion of what it takes to go for a week now with the babes in tow.

Griffin was trying on his life vest to make sure he could go on the pontoon with Grandpa Witt.

Yes, look at those cheeks! The cap accentuates them.

Gavin is a travelin man

Since he learned to roll, he travels all over the place now and we find him in some predicaments. Most I have gotten a photo of but, the time he was at the top of the stairs...not so much.

Griffin is in the yellow/blue, Gavin is in the back of the photo by the white end table. (this was taken today-so it is way out of order but, I added it anyway)

He loves going back to this little corner.

That little blob in the sun is him. He rolled right over to it and layed there like a little puppy basking in the warmth.

First time swinging

Daddy and Griffin
Gavin fell asleep on the first push....notice the flat head? This was taken only a couple weeks after getting the caps. (in mid-August)

Daddy and the boys at Lake Nokomis. (on a cap break....they get to have them off for a few hours each day or if it is really warm out.)

They love looking at trees/leaves.

Strolling around

Gavin in front, Griffin in back. We sometimes walk in jammies....if they get up early and are squirrely, I get them out for some fresh air and then pray they take good naps.

Time to exersaucer

Gavin (on a cap break)
Griffin

New Chairs! (and a cap)

You can see Griffin's cap. We have some better pictures of them in the early days of cap wearing. I just need to find the cord to load those pictures to the computer....this is what I was saying in an earlier post--that we have gotten unorganized in the midst of this chaos we call life and having 3 cameras. Speaking of chaos, I keep getting sidetracked by my little buddies so please, forgive my typing errors. Mostly I am just trying to get the pictures on here as we have had lots of inquiries about the blog and my lack of posting.

1st family dinner. The boys got new highchairs loaned to us from Auntie Annette and Uncle Toby. They love sitting in them and are doing great at eating their first foods. We have lots of those pictures to come.

Great Uncle Dennis

Griffin and GU Dennis. (I found this one after I did the other family pics and I love it)

Just because....

I am the Momma and I just can't stand how cute my babies are! I sometimes find, or create, moments to snap away. This beautiful little sleeping Baby A is Gavin.

This precious little face is my Baby B Griffin.

And here they are again! Gavin (l) Griffin (r)
Griffin's smile didn't like to show up much for the camera at this stage but, I have plenty photo's now...will post those later.

Great Aunt's Mary and Carmen and Great Uncle Gene

Here is GA Mary holding Griffin while we get ready to head out. She showers the boys with love! They are so lucky to have her in their life.

Mary took them on their first walk with both of them sitting upright in the stroller. They loved it and haven't looked back. They now stroll like grown-up babies all the time.

Here is GA Carmen. She got lots of smiles from Gavin. I think he felt right at home when he was with them since he saw himself when he looked at GU Gene.

See?? I think they look like twins. :) Gavin is definitely a Witt no question about it....even though he has my sister's blue blue eyes.

A few of the Witt's and Meiller's

This is, from left, Randy's cousin Jason and his wife Maggie who is holding their new son Seth born in May. (This was his baptism day) Then we have Great Uncle Dennis holding Griffin and his wife Great Aunt Mary holding Gavin and Great Aunt Caryl. Uncle Dennis and Aunt Caryl are Randy's mom's brother and sister.

This is Randy's cousin Brian and his wife Lisa holding their little girl Lainna. Randy and Griffin, and Gavin and me.

This is Randy's dad's brother Gene and his wife Carmen. I have always thought that Gavin looks like Randy's dad, Gene and their other brother David. When Uncle Gene held Gavin, I was even more convinced. I will post that picture next...in this picture he was the baby whisperer and put Griffin to sleep.

This is Randy's mom's sister Caryl with Griffin. She had 2 new grandbabies born in the Spring. Lainna a few days after GG and Seth born in May giving her a grand total of 4 grandchildren.

This is Randy's mom's brother Dennis and his wife Mary. They were our gracious hosts while we visited Milwaukee. Gavin and Griffin had a super fun time with them. We have a few more pictures of them too....

Great-Grandma Eunice

This is Randy's Grandma and Phil. Gavin is with Gramma and Griffin is with Phil.

This is Gramma with all of her great-grandchildren. 4 babies all born last spring!

Here is Gramma singing Roll Out the Barrel to the boys.

a little of this and that

P.S. the boys just woke up from their naps....I didn't get very far but, I will keep working on it

My sister celebrated her 40th b-day in August so we had to make her a sign since we couldn't be with her. We sent her a bouquet of 40 Gerbera flowers so this picture was a hint for her.
Super smiley Gavin

Life is busy with two movers and shakers!

I know we haven't updated the blog since the end of July. It has become a very hard thing to accomplish since the boys have started being awake a lot longer and they are rolling all over the place now! In addition, we have 3 camera's we use and we lost our system for keeping our photo's organized....we are working on that.... (a cell phone, a point and shoot for the diaper bag and a fancy shmancy one to get those photographer quality ones since we haven't done a professional photo shoot with them since they were 1mo old)

This Fall is a time for us to reflect, celebrate and be grateful for all that has happened since we got married, 5 years ago! Each Fall is a time to celebrate numerous birthday's, anniversaries and the season but, for us, we especially hold dear Grandpa Jeff's birthday -my step dad, and Gramma Pat -Randy's mom. Gramma Witt shares her birthday with my sister and her husband who got married 5 years ago also. Then on September 15th, we share Mia and Max's birthday. They are our first niece/nephew born 1 month ahead of our wedding day. LOTS happened for Eryn's family 5 years ago. And now to look back on all that has happened for both families in the past 5yrs is really cool! We now have our own children, 2 nieces and 3 nephews and a baby on the way for Randy's sister. How quickly things can change! It has been wonderful to share all of this together.

In August and September, we had lots of company, we traveled to Milwaukee-to introduce the boys to Randy's extended family including Great-Gramma Eunice, and to a cabin in northern MN where Randy and I honeymooned. The Witt's (Randy's parents, sister and husband, and us) have been vacationing there each summer since that initial trip Randy and I shared. It proves to be full of relaxation, great fishing and beautiful scenery. It was great to be able to introduce our boys to the staff who have been making it such a memorable place for us ever since our honeymoon.

Back to the boys, they are doing great. They are perfectly healthy and happy little 7 month olds! (7mo this Thursday!) They are both so sweet and I want to just hold them forever. However, they are too on the go and cuddles are hard to come by at this house now. When they first wake up I get a small amount of snuggles so I just go with it whenever I can. It is true what "they" say in that time really does fly.

Griffin LOVES to jump and has jumped himself to sleep on more than one occasion. He has even gotten a blister on his one big toe from jumping so much. They both like to jump in things called Johnny Jump-ups. Griffin also loves to jump in another thing called a Jumparoo.

Gavin LOVES to roll around the living room and sample the flavors of the room. We have found him in some very interesting places. Under the coffee table, at the top of the stairs- YIKES!!, back by our recliner...you get the point. He is such a rolly little fella. It is as if he forgets anyone else is in the room and chatters away as he is rolling around exploring.

EVERYTHING goes into their mouths right now. Sometimes they are teething, otherwise it is just another fun stage of learning. Both boys have become super smiley and get so excited to see Daddy when he gets home from work! We love seeing their expressions as they see us and discover new things. It is priceless.

They are both still wearing their craniocaps but, Griffin should be out of his within a week we think and Gavin will have a bit longer as he has outgrown his cap and needs a new one to finish his adjustment. We are just waiting for that to be made and then he may have another month. I can't wait to kiss their soft little heads again. I have kissed plastic too many times to count....

Following this, I will start to post pictures as I am able. We are officially Mommy and Daddy paparazzi.... They are just too cute. How can we not want to frame each moment with them?\
We hope you enjoy!

That's all folks!

That concludes our July adventures. Next up, a trip to Milwaukee to introduce the boys to Randy's Grandma and some Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Randy's Gramma has 4 new great-grandbabies. They were all born this past Spring within a couple months. It will be fun to see all the babies together.

We get rice cereal now!!

Today was our first day of the boys eating rice cereal. They HATED the first bite. Both screamed like we ripped their arms off but once we got them settled and they tried it again, they did awesome! Both ate all that was offered. It was so fun to see them explore the texture and flavor. Griffin is in this photo.
Gavin did so great. At the end he just kept smiling. (this was the best I could post. During his best smiles I was busy feeding Griffin) Who ever thought you would say to your child "stop smiling and eat mister!"?
**Forgot to mention in an earlier post but, the boys did great at their 4mo appt a couple weeks ago. They got shots and were little troopers again. My friend Teea accompanied us to the cranial cap measurement appts as well as the 4mo well baby appts that were all in the same day. Griffin weighed in at 16+ lbs (82nd percentile on the full-term growth charts!!) Gavin weighed in at just under 16 (59th percentile on the same chart)Both are 24 inches now too. Yes, we are fully aware that they are big boys. I promise, we feed them what we are supposed to. Babies cannot overeat. They have grown leaps and bounds from the lil preemie boys we first met.

Sitting up like a big boy

This is at the MNZoo. My dad, who drove back to MSP with us and took the train back to ND, and I met up with my SIL Annette and my niece and nephews. I decided it was a great time to test out one of the boys in the stroller without the carseat. (they both get so warm in their carseats) Gavin loved it and took the first turn. We switched half way through and Griffin had just as much fun. Things look so different when you see them coming instead of going.

Griffin's big boy bed

Isn't this guy so adorable? Love their smiles! (which they show a lot more often nowadays) Star Wars outfits compliments of Auntie Carol and Uncle Sergio.
Here is the cute and super smiley Gavin!

The night before the boys and I left for ND, I picked up this crib for Griffin from one of my MVMOM friends. Daddy put it together the morning after we left so it would be ready for him when we got home. The boys like to lay together and play in it. Gavin's bed will be coming shortly.

Look Ma no hands! We were testing out the Baby Bjorn. Gavin seemed to enjoy the ride. :) Meanwhile, Griffin looks on and wishes mom had a carrier too.
